cardboard feasting

so this is just going to be a few castle shots, because we went to a castle today.  one that we've been to a few times now, but one that greg's parents had not been to, and it was so simple and quick to get there today, taking the car we're borrowing for another few days, and we could all fit into it because william was playing at a friend's house.

driving in, we came into the castle grounds from a different area than usual.  this is frederiksborg castle in hillerød, northeast of us.  well... these are the grounds, but the next pictures are frederiksborg castle.

you can see, in both these pictures, the strict haircuts these trees get over here...

two yellow coats...

the front door...

the moat...

and the motif...

cardboard feasting...

knights...

the castle's church... still used every sunday... (the castle is open 365 days a year)

coats of arms throughout the castle line the walls of the church and also the stairwells.  this one for nelson mandela...

some rich person's fancy bed from the 1800's... it was very short.

in the ball room...
(not my puffy blue coat)

and that's it.  that's all i've got for today, but it's better than not having pictures of a castle and posting them, right?  well... you tell me.

Nice! I would also like to point out that your sky is blue and the moat is not frozen. Denmark trumps Wisconsin this Sunday.
(It's a shame that in life one has to choose blogging or reading. I usually blog when something else distracting is taking place so that I wouldn't be reading anyway.)

Some lovely photos here! I dong have a blog to trade you shots of gumtrees in an Australian summer - though have some on Redbubble website as jayview or Instagram app as jayvue. Jean

I love the moat and its reflection! And the two yellow jacket guys. So very nice that you've got the kids' grandparents with you now and also a car to get around in!

And I must say it's an exquisite pleasure to get two blog posts in a row from you! Like jewels!
