zoo

a warm, sunny day... on a weekend no less.  denmark might as well have known how i was feeling yesterday and asked me to reconsider... that's how nice it was.

we decided to go to the copenhagen zoo.  it was a fine zoo.  much bigger than our free one in madison, but i wouldn't say the animals' quarters are much larger.  on the whole, it seemed on par with zoos in the u.s.

the pelicans had it pretty nice though...

we considered getting annual passes, but william seemed just as content to look at the little stream running through the primate house or the little toad pond as he did the animals. plus, the real highlight was the park we walked through to get to the zoo.  it was about a mile walk from the train station to the zoo and in between is a huge park, filled, of course, today, with people... and their dogs, their bikes, their friends, their children, their significant others, their extended families.

william especially enjoyed the fountain, and by the end was in his underwear splashing around in it.

the park...

tree climbing

running back to the fountain after the zoo...

leaving the park, greg takes both guys...

back at home, it seemed a skype marathon, as if the familiar faces were saying, "here we are! just a mouse click away!"  thank you!
