weekend

denmark was generous with its beautiful days this weekend.  i know it's constrained, based on its location, in number of beautiful days it can hand out each year, so i'm just grateful when one comes around.  and we have had so many lately.  i'm wondering what's up with the rain.  will it come all at once in june?  

yesterday was sunny, then hazy and windy by the time we arrived down at the fjord...

henry slept under cover.  out of the wind.  a good long beachy nap.

and this morning i met a couple of my classmates at a cafe.  we sat outside in the sunlight talking about wanderlust and homesickness and everything you must be when you are a person who moves yourself somewhere new, so far from where you've been.

then we walked to the twice yearly toy sale put on by the kids of roskilde (with a little help from their parents... "hvad koster det?" (what does it cost?); "...mor..." (...mom...))

it was a cool sale.  i wish we'd gotten there before they started packing things up, but still, i brought home a little lego set for william and a "banjo" for henry.  really a three-string guitar.  maybe someday we'll pick up a couple extra strings.  someone was even selling the original mastermind, which is one of my favorite games, but i convinced my friend to buy it instead, since we have a less coveted newer version already with us in denmark.

and eventually the weekend was over and there was nothing left to do but tinker around with a lego castle and read stories...
