friday

this has possibly been one of the nicest days in i don't know how long.  not weather-wise of course.  that was still cold enough to leave some snow lying around.  but nice in the sense that the house was clean for a showing today, henry and i spent a great day together (he was mostly recovered from the stomach flu but turned down just a notch or two from his regular self which, (and i say this with a little guilt, because you want your kids to be who they are) made both him and myself happier), greg got home in time for all of us to pick william up from school, we bought food at the grocery store for william's requested dinner of fish, mashed potatoes, and carrots, and he ate the entire thing plus some seconds and stated that bacon is not his only favorite food, and then we all sat around the living room and played for a good hour until bedtime.  after henry was asleep we read some more of the hobbit with william, though it was a section a bit mired in easterly and westerly and southerly descriptions of cliffs and rocks and rivers and eddys.

well, some pictures...

from henry's mid-morning off-road adventure...

a bit of blue sky in the (north)westerly...

tired from adventuring...

at the grocery store.  i know my friend, judy, blogged about this when she lived here... wine samples... they don't do this in the grocery stores in the u.s. do they?  unmanned and all...

these particular fish were not harmed in the course of our making dinner...
but william loves looking at them.

oh, a happy friday!

Free wine in the US? I can't think of anything that could go wrong with that...

Beautiful, effervescent post. Thank you for that feeling of lightness!
