in town

greg was back to work today and the boys and i had an in-town adventure...

to the bus...

the library was having a halloween arts and crafts workshop conveniently on the day some library books were due back, so that was our first (and longest) stop of the day...

other than that pumpkin and this eyeball...

we also carried this pumpkin and this bat around with us all day...
why cut a bat out of black construction paper when you can just color an entire green one with a pencil?
... as well as two more bats, two spiders in two webs, and two clay fingers.

after, we walked to the walking street and ate pizza at the one really good pizza place in town (discovered by some friends who were here a couple years ago visiting) and then to the toy store where the boys each picked out a halloween costume.

and then to get haircuts...

william was adamant that his stay long ("i'm growing it out for the winter), but henry was up for anything.  turns out anything involves hair gel...
spider in hand

later, we stayed up too late watching a movie, but tomorrow's still fall break, so anything goes.

transformative hair cut! What's it like without the gel?
I see warm sweaters in the library. In Poland and France, interiors tend to be nice and warm in the cold season. What's it like in Denmark?

Hi Nina,

I've never taken note of the interiors-- which means they must keep the heat on. And they do have this notion of 'hygge'-- maybe you've heard of it... which would, I'd imagine, frown on the idea of a cold interior-- if hygge could frown.
