at some point while we were all sick, our dishwasher decided to coat all of our clean dishes with a chalky film. our survival strategy became 1) use up all of the other dishes first, then 2) take out chalky filmy dishes from the dishwasher purely on an as-needed basis, hand wash them, use them, then proceed to hand wash them again, while simultaneously re-cleaning the remaining chalky dishes in the dishwasher:
on 'super intensive 70 minute mode'-- still chalky-- maybe more chalky;
after adding jet dry without dishwasher detergent-- chalkier still;
with dishwasher detergent-- even more chalky;
after buying a big bag of dishwasher salt (who knew this was even a thing) and adding it-- nope.
finally tonight, we committed to tackling dish mountain by hand. and we did it. but it's late now. and henry, who is still under the weather, did not go to sleep until 10 p.m. and i'm sitting at the base camp of laundry mountain and i think that's where i'm going to stay tonight.
i guess what i'm trying to say is i'm tired, so will you settle for a picture of william hitting the moon with a spaceship while i go to sleep? yes? good! here it is. goodnight then!
