miss mass

oops... tis the second time in as many months that i've gone to dinner at someone's house and left the scruffy black bag in which i keep the essential ingredients (keys, wallet, phone) behind.  by the time i realized it, we were already too far to turn back.  it was at one of greg's co-worker's homes, so it will all be back by tomorrow evening.  i would say that's my excuse for having no pictures from today, but i don't think i'd actually taken any anyway, so that's not my excuse after all.  i'll check around and see if i have something from this summer to share.

hold a minute...

okay, that was more than a minute, but i had to find the pictures and sort through them and still they're not in the right chronological order.  this is of the very beginning of our trip, when we flew into boston and stayed with my brother and his family.  wow, hard to believe it wasn't even summer yet, just the middle of spring.  tulip season.  long ago now, but i remember enough to know we took the train into the city before we went north to rockport for mother's day and ate a whole lot of fried seafood... but you're going to see it in reverse.  there's also a little lexington and concord at the end.

mother's day, rockport, fried seafood, corn on the cob, lemonade, americana...

look what eventually made its way into that bucket.  a... what?  water centipede?

probably uncovering that water centipede...

back in the town...

back at home...

on the way into boston...

general washington...

i told you it was tulip season...

there's the scruffy black bag!

holocaust memorial
lexington and concord (or maybe just concord with a bit of lexington... i can't recall)...

general washington...

where are those red coats anyway?

history was well and good, but william was excited to find a snake...

this soldier was pretty honored to get to speak with the general...

this, well... i can only assume it took place on the east coast because of the sea creature, but i have no actual memory of any story behind these finds...

that's it for tonight!  time for bed!
